Snežana Petrović is a Serbian painter and printmaker of the young generation whose artworks belong to the genre of figurative surrealism and fantastic art.
Snežana Petrović was born in 1977 in Novi Sad, Serbia. She graduated from the Academy of Arts of the University of Novi Sad in 2004 in the class of Professor Milan Stanojev at the department of printmaking. In 2008 she obtained a Magister of Fine Arts degree in Printmaking from the Academy of Arts of the University of Novi Sad in the class of Professor Radovan Jandrić. In 2015 she obtained a Doctor of Fine Arts degree in Printmaking from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Arts in Belgrade, Serbia under the mentorship of Professor Žarko Smiljanić. She works as an assistant professor of printmaking at the Academy of Classical Painting of the Educons University in Sremska Kamenica, Serbia.
She has participated in many solo and group exhibitions, both in Serbia and worldwide and has won several awards for her artworks, among them a special jury prize “Acqui Prize 2011” for print View from the Other Angle (2009), in the mezzotint technique, at the X International Biennial of Engraving in Acqui Terme, Italy.
Her artworks are in the collections of many national galleries and museums in Italy, Russia, Hungary, England, Serbia, Malaysia and the USA.
